Actually, for those who haven't checked the BDSMLR Twitter in a while, the image above appeared on 31 March - although there hasn't been anything since.
It sounds like the site did in fact get sold or transferred (see reference to "previous BDSMLR team").
I have no idea why they're not able to communicate by creating e.g. an official account on their own site, or just use the little update box that hasn't been updated since February. It's honestly a bit strange, leaving me wondering whether the people who have control of the Twitter actually do have the full keys to the website, or whether there might be some kind of dispute or problem there.
Anyway, I've now put in a support ticket listing the extensive series of ongoing bugs that I'm aware of in case there actually is some work happening. We'll see!
EDIT: They're also posting development updates on Github, which is a totally normal way to communicate with a community and not at all weird and obtuse. But if they're to be believed then there is active work and updates occurring, albeit not on the most significant issues.
